Where the forest begins, at Pfaffenberg 1 in Wiehl, our Waldhotel stands right next to the stalactite cave and wildlife park. Since 1982 we have welcomed guests here in a cosy country-house style, with friendliness, respect, personal attention and real hospitality. In the house you will find 30 rooms, restaurant, Schänke and terrace, halls and salons for celebrations and meetings, two skittle alleys as well as an indoor pool, sauna and fitness room. Since 1 October 2026, new hosts have run the hotel (Stay & Live eGbR).
You travel with your family, with friends or as a couple, privately or on business, and you find everything under one roof. At reception you can also get vouchers for the restaurant and hotel. The house has been family-run since 1982.

The location
Cave and wildlife park right next door
On foot from the front door
Next to the house lies the stalactite cave, and the wildlife park with its forest climate trail is right there too.
In the Homburger Ländchen around 180 kilometres of well waymarked hiking trails await. Free parking is right at the house.
You enter Wiehl Wildlife Park free of charge, its circular route is around 1.8 kilometres long. Guided tours through the cave take about 45 minutes, and you book the tickets via the website of the stalactite cave. How an overnight stay and the cave can be combined, you can read at hotel by the stalactite cave. For dinner you then head to the restaurant in Wiehl.
