If you are looking for a cave event venue, you will find it next to the Waldhotel: the stalactite cave is ideal for a company reception or outing. A tour takes around 45 minutes, around 25 people join each tour, and afterwards you eat in the hotel.

You descend 26 steps, walk through narrow passages, marvel at stalactites and end up around 30 metres underground. Down here neither titles nor departments count, everyone takes the same steps.

It is around 8 °C below ground all year round, so the date does not depend on the weather. Free parking is available directly at the hotel.

From call to company outing in four steps

  1. Call and agree a date

    Call us on +49 2262 7920 and tell us the group size, preferred date and occasion. Around 25 people join each tour; we divide larger teams across several tours.

  2. Tour underground

    The tour takes around 45 minutes and leads down 26 steps to the lowest point. The meeting point is the ticket desk at the kiosk, and tours start punctually on the hour.

  3. Break in the wildlife park

    Wiehl wildlife park is right next door, freely accessible and open all day. The circular route is around 1.8 kilometres long, just right for clearing your head.

  4. Meal and close at the Waldhotel

    Afterwards it is time to sit down at the Waldhotel, with dinner or a buffet. Please book food and drinks in good time.

  • For those who can manage the steps

    Entry is via 26 steps, and the cave is not step-free. Anyone who does not wish to go down can wait upstairs at the kiosk or stroll through the wildlife park.

  • Clothing

    It is around 8 °C below ground with high humidity, so pack a jacket and sturdy shoes.

  • Timing

    Allow around 45 minutes for a tour and plan 15 minutes beforehand for arrival and the meeting point. Anyone arriving late can no longer join the tour.

  • Price

    Groups receive a €1 discount per person on the individual price. The hotel will tell you by phone from which group size this applies.
